Memoirs of the Uprising
€10.00
Liam Ó Briain was a member of the Volunteers of Ireland from 1914, and he fought with the Citizen Army of Ireland in the College of Surgeons during Easter Week. This is a clear lively account of the events of that time.
An account in which there is truth, humanity and, more than any other thing, humour. It will endure as literature. When this book was first published in Irish in 1951, it was hoped it would be read by the young people of Ireland. To remember more often the hardships endured by our forebears for the sake of our freedom we might the better validate Pearse’s vision.
