Sarah is a successful jewellery designer and loves her work, as does her daughter Niamh who is an intern to a goldsmith in London. Her two sons work in IT, Mark in London and Harry in New York. Ex-husband, Don, lives in his own house with his girlfriend. He wants her to leave, but she won’t go. Sarah finds an old letter and a photograph her mother, Ella, had hidden in a chest of drawers which she had bequeathed to Sarah. Intrigued by its contents, it leads her into a search which takes her back in time to the 1970s when Ella was young.
